Mir Yeshiva managed to avoid a huge theft in Meah Shearim.
On Friday night, at about 3:00, a group of Arab's arrived in a black space vehicle in Meah Shearim in Jerusalem and settled next to the jewelry store, Gold & Silver, to steal merchandise.
They tied a cable between the car and the store gate in order to rip the door open when the Arab driver starts driving.
As result of the noise, Yeshiva Mir students living a few hundred feet from the store appeared at the scene.
The boys drove the Arabs away with shouts and within a few minutes, many residents gathered in the area.
"A boy who came from Baharan fled after one Arab drove him away him with an ax in his hand," recalled Eli Jabobson, one of the boys during an interview with B'Chadrei Charedim. "As a result of the shouts they fled from the scene.
"It was fun to see the locals come out on Friday night in pajamas from their homes," he says, "though most of them were afraid of the Arabs."
Half an hour later the security company car arrived, and waited for the arrival of a business owner who was standing outside his shop until morning.
