Turbulent Shabbos in Jerusalem: Hundreds demonstrated today (Shabbos), in the center of Jerusalem against Shabbos desecration in the Karta parking lot.

Hundreds of ultra-Orthodox members of the 'Eideh Charedi; demonstrated against Shabbos desecration in the Karta parking lot. During the demonstration, some of the protesters rioted, threw bottles and tried to block the road.

Four protesters were arrested, including one under age.

For weeks demonstrations were held on the corners of Yeshayahu Street – Haneviim Street against Shabbos desecration in the Karta parking lot, but they are usually quiet.

But on this Shabbos, approximately 200 people arrived at the area to demonstrate, an unusually large amount of demonstrators. Some of them blocked the road to traffic.

Police also claim that the demonstrators threw stones and bottles at police cars - and arrested them.

Jerusalem police spokesman Shmulik Ben Ruby said that, "four protesters including three adults and one under age were arrested."

It is estimated that some will be released tonight and there is a chance that some of them will be brought before a judge in the morning.
