Hundreds of people accompanied today Corporal Yosef Nachman Partok hy"d to his burial, who died yesterday as a result of being hit by a missile in the Eshkol region. "Who has the strength to face this tragedy? He was killed Al Kiddush Hashem and was a victim for all of us," he was eulogized.
The eulogy journey began at the Shamgar funeral home in Jerusalem, where the funeral began and continued to Har Hamenuchos – where he was laid to rest.
Family, his comrades and friends from the community, and many others attended the funeral. Everyone had trouble digesting the great loss. "We are people of faith but it's hard to believe we are standing before the bed of Yosef Nachman," eulogized Rabbi Yitzhak Anaki, community rabbi in his hometown - Emanuel. "Yosef Nachman of recent times is a guy who understood quite clearly what is the way of the righteous, he chose it, declared it to his family and friends, why he did not get to implement this road? Why did we not merit seeing him go this way?"
One of his commanders eulogized him briefly and said: "Last Thursday, in light of the security situation – you arrived for the mission in the south, your friends were stunned when they received the news, I learned a lot about you from your friends, on your desire to be a good soldier, we bow our heads on a day like this, and promise to remember you".
Ilan, his unit associate, eulogized too: "This is the first time I am eulogizing a friend who was killed, when we brought up memories of you I did not cry - because you ordered us to be happy. We accompany you for the last time, they say that it happens to the best, and perhaps fate wanted to prove that this is true now more than ever. We will never forget you and we will never break down."
Rabbi Eliyahu Biton, who knew Yosef Nachman and is a friend of the family, eulogized last: "Lately, he had strengthened significantly. Accepted things upon him and stood by them. He knew what is essential and what is important; let's accept upon ourselves each and every one of us something spiritual for the elevation of his soul".
Immediately after the eulogies the family said Kaddish with heartbreaking cries. There was not a dry eye. After reciting Kaddish they left for the funeral cortege.
