A woman, resident of Tzur Hadassah, was injured this evening (Tuesday) by rocks, near the ultra-Orthodox settlement of Beitar Illit.
At 20:10 Hussan village residents rioted and threw rocks and bottles at Hussan bypass road near the entrance to Beitar Illit. A few minutes later a report was received on the shooting and severely injured woman at the site.
Rescue teams called to the scene treated a 60 year old woman who was hit hard by a rock. However it turned out that the report on the shooting was wrong.
Yosef, a Hatzalah-Beitar paramedic, who arrived first at the scene told B'Chadrei Charedim, "the injury seemed at first as a bullet wound and only after tests showed that it was a head injury from a rock. The injured woman was initially drowsy and passed out in stages. Following treatment she was evacuated by Intensive Care Mobile to hospital. "
ZAKA medic Isaac Bernstein told B'Chadrei Charedim: "It was a mother and daughter traveling by car to their home in Tzur Hadassah. 500 meters from the entrance to Beitar on the bypass road Hussan, stones were thrown at them. The driver, the daughter of the wounded woman, continued to drive to the entrance of Beitar Illit."
