Supreme Court rejected the demand to order Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately dismiss from their positions Interior Minister Eli Yishai and Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, after the state comptroller assigned a special responsibility in the report issued regarding the Carmel disaster.

The petitions were filed by the Movement for Quality Government, retired commander Zeev Even-Chen and inspector Amit Klein - father and husband of the late Margalit Even Chen z"l who perished in the fire disaster in the Carmel, and Ometz movement.

The judges found that there are no grounds for judicial intervention in the Prime Minister's decision not to move the ministers from their positions. However, the judges noted: "We have emphasized that our decision does not entail taking a position in relation to public meanings which the auditor's report bears on its findings and recommendations. The judicial decision separately, and public trial separately."
