Baruch Dayan Haemes: At Assaf Harofeh Hospital the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Nes Ziona, Rabbi Shaul Achrak zt"l passed away this afternoon at the age of 74. He was taken to hospital last Friday after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
The Rabbi zt"l studied in his youth at the Chevron Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where he was one of the students of Hagaon Sarna and Reb Moshe Hevroni zt"l. Over the years, he was appointed to serve as Rabbi of Bet Dagan, and later, 37 years ago, was appointed to serve as Rabbi of the city of Nes Ziona, where he served as Rabbi until his last day.
Throughout his Rabbanical role he was a symbol and an example among residents in the city, and during his presidency he arranged thousands of Chuppa's.
He was loved by residents and stood by their side at all times of trouble and times of joy.
He is survived by his wife and six children - including Rabbi Chaggai Lahav Achrak, the Rabbi of Beit Dagan.
The funeral procession will leave tonight (Monday) at 21:00 from his home 12 Katzenelson Street in Nes Ziona.
