Ran for cover when siren sounded - and was seriously injured

At the Soroka hospital three wounded soldiers who were evacuated yesterday are still hospitalized, after they were hit by a rocket in Eshkol Regional Council area. One of the soldiers was evacuated by helicopter in a moderate condition. Two other soldiers were evacuated by ambulance to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.

The moderately wounded soldier underwent surgery during the evening, and he is hospitalized in intensive care, when he is not ventilated and not sedated.

Another injured underwent surgery during the evening too. His condition is slight and he was hospitalized in the Plastic Surgery ward.

The third casualty had surgery to remove a shrapnel. He is set in an easy condition in the neurosurgery ward.

In addition, following one of the sirens sounded last night, a civilian who was injured from a passing vehicle while trying to find shelter when he got out of his car during the alarm, was taken to Soroka Hospital. He suffered a severe head injury and underwent surgery during the night. He was hospitalized in the intensive care neurosurgery ward.

Also still in hospital are patients wounded by the barrage of rockets yesterday in Nachalat Har Chabad in Kiryat Malachi and cities of the South. Shmulik Scharf, whose wife Mira hy"d was killed, had surgery yesterday and is recovering.
