Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came out today in a statement to the Israeli media, and at the end also gave the international media statement:
During the last day Hamas has absorbed hard blows. In addition to a precise harm to the military leader, the IDF significantly hit Fajar missiles aimed at Tel Aviv and Gush Dan, and north of Tel Aviv. At these precise moments the army continues to attack the centers of power transmission in the south, and is set for substantial expansion of the operation.
Since the start of the operation I have spoken to many leaders around the world. They understand that there is no country in the world that is ready to accept that its citizens live in terror of rockets and missiles. I spoke yesterday with U.S.
President Barack Obama. I expressed my deep appreciation for his support and the support of the United States for the right of Israel to defend itself. I made it clear what is clear to all of you: Hamas and other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip simultaneously operates two war crimes: they hide behind civilians in Gaza, firing on civilians in Israel.
Like you, I saw today the picture of the bleeding Israeli baby. I believe this picture says it all. Hamas affected children on both sides: they shoot the Israeli children and hide behind Palestinian children. This is a very difficult situation, but despite this the IDF continues and will continue to do everything possible to avoid harming civilians. I share the distress of the families who lost loved ones, I send a full recovery to the wounded and on behalf of all citizens of Israel, I would like to strengthen the southern residents.
I am in touch with the Mayor's in the south. Their stamina and residents of the south is a key component of our national strength. I appeal to the residents of the south and ask you one major thing: the most important thing is that you will continue to ensure compliance with the instructions of the Home Front Command. Preservation of these instructions saves lives and helps us to continue to act forcefully against terror in Gaza.
