The thief was released and rushed to break the Mikvah money box

A gabbai at the Beit Midrash of Belze Hasidim in Montreal who arrived on Monday morning to the mikveh, was amazed to find: automatic cash box was broken and its contents stolen.

The security tape was checked to identify a man sawing a gate lock and automatic cash box using tools, pulled out the money and disappeared in his car.

But the tape was not clear enough and the police, in collaboration with Belzer community leaders, sent the tape to a special laboratory.

Yesterday police were shocked to discover: the unknown man who broke the Mikvah money box is no other then the thief who broke into the shuls in Montreal, who was released on bail last Friday, and was forbidden to approach the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods.

About a month ago we reported here on the outbreak of theft in Montreal shuls, totaling 14 cases of burglary and theft of expensive and valuable items. Using sophisticated ambush members of the 'Chaveirim' in Montreal, caught a young gentile living in an orthodox neighborhood.

The youngster was arrested and interrogated until the end of proceedings. Last Friday, as noted, the youngster was released on bail. Two days later, he committed the theft at the mikvah.

Police are trying to catch the youngster, who is probably in hiding.
