Baruch Dayan Ha'emes: In Jerusalem today (Wednesday) passed away at the age of 76, the late Harav Shlomo Eisenbach z"l - founder of 'ZAKA' organization, Eisenbach Taxis and one of the majestic figures of Jerusalem.

Recently he had been very ill and was hospitalized.

R' Shlomo z"l was among the first who cared for the dead in Jerusalem, together with Harav Menashe Eichler and Harav Elazar Gelbstein from the Chevra Kadisha Prushim. Together they formed the organization 'Chessed shel Emet'.

For his living he founded the taxis company Eisenbach, with his father, Harav Moshe Eisenbach z"l. Initially they were the only drivers until the expansion pf the station.

Over the years, he founded the Chessed organization ZAKA, which dealt with honor of the dead.

His acquaintances tell of a Jew who welcomed everyone, "Aman full of Chessed and joy of life, who cared for widows and orphans, and basically everyone. Everyone who passed Mea Shearim neighborhood and needed a favor or a loan, would know that the house of R' Shlomo was open for him."

Every day he would pray at the Western Wall Vasikin and participated in the Shiur of the of the renowned Maggid, Hagaon R' Mordechai Druck zt.

He is survived by a Dor Yeshorim Mevorach - sons, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The organization of ZAKA has published a mourning announcement: "The organization of ZAKA - the volunteers, commanders and rabbis - mourn the passing of someone who was entirely "Chessed shel Emet", devoted his life for the honor of the dead, one of the founders of ZAKA Harav Shlomo Eisenbach zt"l".

The funeral will take place today (Wednesday) at the funeral home Shamgar at 15:30 to Har Hamenuchos, Jerusalem.

May his soul shall be cherished in the bundle of life.
