Despite talk of a truce, continued firing to the south: this morning (Tuesday) a rocket was fired at the Ashdod area and exploded in an open area. No injuries or damage were caused.

Tonight, the Air Force attacked two rocket launching sites in northern Gaza and located a weapons storage site in the center of the Strip. Accurate hits were identified in targets. IDF officials said that they see Hamas as responsible for the escalation.

Yesterday starting from 21:00pm, Palestinians reported air strikes in the Gaza Strip. First they reported that the IDF fired artillery shells at the east of Jabalya refugee camp, and as a result a terrorist belonging to the Democratic Front was very lightly injured.

Later they reported that the Air Forces' aircrafts fired two missiles at a target in northwest Gaza, near the radio station of the Islamic Jihad. There were no casualties.

They then reported an attack against the website of the Hamas military wing in the area of Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza Strip. There are no injuries.

Hamas's radio station reported overnight that the Air Force attacked several training sites and open spaces without casualties.

Gaza Health Ministry spokesman issued a statement "We ask citizens not to gather in bombed areas so as not to give the IDF the opportunity to hurt you."

IDF spokesman confirmed that the force's aircraft attacked during the night two launch sites in northern Gaza and a weapons storage site in the center of the Strip.

"The attack is a response to high trajectory fire into Israeli territory. Precise hits in targets were identified. All our planes returned safely to their bases."

"The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against anyone who activates terror against the State of Israel," the statement said. "The Hamas terrorist organization bears the responsibility and is the address."

Crossings were opened

However, given the relative calm last night late in the evening in the Gaza Strip, the defense system decided to re-open this morning the Erez and Kerem Shalom crossings, in a desire to return to routine. A coordination with Egypt was established for further transfer of fuel to Gaza donated by Qatar, through Kerem Shalom.

The Egyptian newspaper "Al - Ahram" reported on Tuesday that dozens of people demonstrated in Cairo to protest the IDF attacks in Gaza in recent days.

Last night, representatives of Palestinian factions in Gaza gathered to discuss Israeli threats to attack Gaza. The meeting was initiated by Hamas and representatives from all organizations operating in Gaza were summoned, including Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front, the Democratic Front and other organizations.

Yesterday evening seven rockets were fired into southern Israel, the last one at 21:10pm.

Since the beginning of the year, 858 rockets and mortar shells were fired from Gaza into Israeli territory, 120 of which were launched from the beginning of the escalation on Motzaei Shabbos. Beyond that number, 110 missiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome, and dozens others exploded before reaching Israel.

Minister Gideon Sa'ar said to Kol Israel radio station that any sensible person understands that a larger military action to stop the rocket fire is looming. He said the rounds of violent clashes in the south become more and more frequent, and this is an intolerable situation.

"The government will choose the timing, with consideration and responsibility." In the program 'This Morning' the Minister told Yaakov Ahimeir that understandings with terrorist organizations are fragile because there are officials in the Strip who are their own judges. "We can not be dependent on any link and we must instill the insight to the other side that it will pay a very painful price for firing rockets into Israel."
