The court extended today (Tuesday), the arrest of three suspects for an additional five days for Ministry of Education fraud through a fictitious organization called Bnos Yerushalayim-Keren Moshe, who were arrested yesterday morning.
Undercover investigation began a year ago by the Fraud Squad, following information on money obtained by deception, during which investigators traced the footsteps of three members of the association.
The extent of the fraud, it is believed, is estimated at tens of millions of shekels in recent years.
The association was established several years ago - by the main suspect who allegedly sought the support of the Ministry of Education for an educational anti - Zionist institution 'Bnos Yerushalayim' – who never asked for government support. The suspects transferred fictitious names of other students to the Education Ministry who do not learn in Bnos Yerushalayim, and asked them for support.
Yesterday morning investigators raided three apartments, searched and seized incriminating material and three suspects were arrested.
The main suspect is the 29-year-old head of the organization that lives in Ramat Beit Shemesh. Another suspect is a 30-year-old from the neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem, and a young man of 24 from Givat Zeev.
