Residents in Jerusalem complained to a member of the Council- Yisrael Kellerman about the exaggerated advertising requirements for a building permit application - and the attorney decided to publish a series of measures

If bureaucratic procrastination is not enough for residents of Jerusalem to deal with when they seek permits to build in the city, they were also forced to spend large sums of money to advertise the application.

Up until now, the applicant was required to post ads in three newspapers; ad pasting production and application patch of adjacent plots and delivery of the message to residents living close to the land on which a permit is requested for construction, and all this is done through a Jerusalem municipality company which recently won the auction.

Recently, representatives contacted the municipality and residents angrily complained that the advertising expenses have increased by tens of percent, primarily due to a new requirement that separate advertisements should be sent by both spouses who are joint owners of the apartment.

An additional cost residents complained about is messages to the residents who live in neighborhoods where there are a number of building entrances, in which case, they are required to send messages to the entire building, although usually most apartment owners do not have straight links to the construction.

Following complaints, a member of the Council, Yisrael Kellerman contacted Ophir Mayer-Director of Licensing and Supervision in the municipality and attorney department to discuss the matter. "As someone familiar with the matter, the issue of expansion and construction of an apartment, which is also a very large expense to the residents," says Kellerman. "The Municipality should make it their responsibility to cancel the duplicates advertising messages for both spouses and neighbors who do not live in close proximity and thereby reduce advertising costs by tens of percent."

Following the request, the Attorney Division at the municipality announced that from now in a case that the registry lists the couple as the two co-owners of the apartment, you can send only one message, and specify the name of each partner.

In addition, in the case of residents living in a building with several entrances, there is no need to send messages to the owners of apartments in the entire building but only apartments located at the entrance or next door of the building that has a direct link to the construction in question and the construction has a direct impact on it and it will save large advertising expenses.
