Again incitement against haredim rages on the network: A Facebook browser called for the elimination of haredim "urgently."
Earlier this week, the Movement for Quality Government released data of basic salary and benefits received by Kollel students. The data were presented on a background symbol of the State of Israel and appeared with the following text: "The picture appearing throughout the network reflects a bleak social reality in Israel of 2012 – the most infuriating is that those who do not serve in the army, are also the ones that do not go out to the labor market, and ultimately they are also the ones who get the affordable housing benefits, they are the ones who enjoy homeland gifts worth hundreds of thousands of shekels. Who will dare and say that dreaming is not here."
The data presented in the picture summed up the total amount of 7,250 shekels that a Kollel student aged 28 with 4 children receives. The picture also featured work days: 0 versus cumulative vacation days: 365. Among others, it featured benefits the Kollel student receives, such as occupant housing, property tax exemption, income tax exemption, military service exemption and more.
On the 'Dossim' site, whose goal it is to fight, among other things, the incitement against the ultra-Orthodox in the media, noted that when the data was published three months ago on the network, they explained why "the data is totally distorted."
In a post protest published against the Movement for Quality Government: "Any person with common sense can see that this is low and shallow propaganda, the numbers are invented without any connection to reality and is completely the opposite course.
"It is unfortunate to see that a movement which presents itself as governmental and is worthy of public trust chose to join the chorus of incitement against the ultra-Orthodox community." They called for public users to enter and protest against the movement's Facebook page."
The Movement itself responded: "The advertising of the image, is not a statement that the data is one hundred percent accurate and we write and fix accordingly, the aim is not to arouse public incitement against one community or the other - but its purpose is to show the public the two struggles, and discussions will be held this month at the High Court: The Struggle for equal burden of recruitment, and the struggle for the outline of affordable housing criteria set by the Israeli government, we think are essential to stop the ongoing reality of discrimination."
The clarification and partial apology did not help the movement, and the advertising led to many inciting comments against the ultra-Orthodox public. One browser shared a picture in his personal account and wrote: "urgent mass destruction" - meaning the ultra-Orthodox.
The Movement for Quality Government said in response that the post was raised "in order to stimulate public debate about the lack of participation of many ultra-Orthodox in mandatory recruitment and economy burden. The Movement sees the importance of the debate on this important and painful issue that affects the country and the society in Israel."
However, they explained, the post has been removed "due to hostile, offensive and inciting reactions aimed at ultra-Orthodox sector, comments not suitable according to the movements perspective." To end, the movement wrote that they "call everyone to act out of a desire to correct and not out of hatred and incitement."
