Escalation in the south continues: more than a hundred rockets and mortar shells were fired at southern areas today. Tonight (Sunday), two rockets landed in Sderot. One of them hit directly at a home, but there were no casualties. Rockets were fired at Netivot.

Shortly before, seven mortar shells were fired too at the Eshkol Regional Council. Thus, the number of rockets and mortars fired at Israel over the last day sums up to 107.

At about 14:00 a Grad missile was fired at Beer - Sheva. The rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome system. At 16:00 a rocket was fired into Ashkelon Coast Council. No one was injured.

Meanwhile it was reported that the Egyptian intelligence is trying to negotiate to achieve calm in the south.

According to sources close to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a cease-fire between Israel and Palestinian factions, including Islamic Jihad, was scheduled to go into practice starting at 21:30. However, several rockets continued to be registered in the Gaza perimeter.
