A Tel Aviv resident aged 49 was arrested this morning (Saturday), after breaking into a synagogue in the city and stole Torah scrolls and property. The stolen items were found in his possessions.
Tel Aviv police spokesman said that Tel Aviv resident was arrested at about 9:00 this morning on suspicion of breaking into a synagogue on Nachlat Binyamin Street.
Torah scrolls, electric appliances and headgear were stolen.
Tel Aviv police succeeded in locating the suspect in a quick operation and the stolen property in his possessions.
The suspect was arrested, and will be brought tonight to extend his detention.
