Fire in Meah Shearim: Team of firefighters attacked • female firefighter wounded

In the center of Meah Shearim a firefighter team was attacked last night (Thursday) when they tried to extinguish a burning garbage trunk. A female fire fighter was injured, channel 7 reported.
The fire crew was violently attacked and bottles and stones were thrown at them. As a result a female fire fighter suffered injuries from the bottle thrown at her back.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, expressed shock at the incident and said: "We will not allow a situation where a handful of extremists harms the residents of the neighborhood and prevents service providers in the neighborhood to do their jobs. I spoke with the Police Commissioner on the issue and we have agreed to work together to eradicate the phenomenon."
