Conference of Representatives approaches • What will be there?

Preparations for the elected conference – the conference of Haredi representatives of local authorities, continues at full speed.

The Steering Committee of the Conference of Representatives composed of the President of the Conference, Beit Shemesh Mayor Moshe Abutbul, Chairmen of the Conference Yaakov Asher, Bnei Brak Mayor and Meir Rubinstein mayor of Beitar Illit, along with professional staff from local government and representatives of the 'Malchut' Company who produces the conference, convened this week for a summary briefing on the sessions and panels which will take place in the three-day conference at the Nir Etzion hotel in the Carmel Mountains.

The Conference of Representatives is of considerable interest among the Hareidi public officials for the strictly professional contents which are likely to be in it, and the presence of the heads of government and the Israeli economy.

More than 250 elected officials from dozens of local authorities are expected to take part and actively participate in sessions and panels which will take place throughout the three days of the conference.

The session which will address urban planning for Hareidim, planning and construction in existing cities and housing solutions for the haredi public, will host heads of central authorities in Israel, heads of the Home Ministry, Home Ministry for Development of the Negev and Galilee, contractors, heads of building organizations, heads of organizations and communities, and the heads of the Jewish National Fund.
The political seating will be lead by senior ministers from parties in Israeli politics and attended by representatives of United Torah Judaism and Shas, deputy ministers and Knesset members.


From education to health

A special session is dedicated to the transportation issue, due to its being an important commodity for the Haredi community. The session will include improving daily service for citizens, transportation to Talmudei Torah and schools, special transportation for Simchas, transportation on Erev Yom Tov, transportation from city to city to Hareidi centers. The session will host heads of the Ministry of Transport, transportation master plan team, heads of the National Road Safety Authority and heads of Torah and Chassidus institutions all over Israel.
The welfare Session will deal with employment, community in times of emergency, the mission of the public representative in operating systems, education and treatment of citizens. The session will be lead by heads of the Welfare and Labor offices, and Welfare portfolio holders in local authorities.

A session which is expected to be fascinating is titled: "A Councilor is not a pot plant", an in-depth publicist session. Clarifying the role and responsibility of local authorities Rabbinic emissaries. Session will be attended by opinion makers, experts in segmentation of the function and role of public representative.

A session of municipal companies and corporations will feature mayors, chairman of municipal corporations and municipal companies from a variety of local authorities.

Haredi education will have special session attended by leaders of the Haredi education systems and the heads of the Ministry of Education, in which participants will engage in the municipal education budget under the title, "Between support and funding and laws of allocations and appropriations."

The panel on Finance and Budget "Between budgeting and balancing grants for economic independence" will be led by mayors, heads of the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Finance and heads of financial and banking systems.

Another session which is expected to be of great interest is the communication session. "Between communication and interaction in Haredi society", with representatives of factions in the Knesset and attended by leaders and opinion makers in the media.

The health topic will also receive an important manifestation in the conference, and will discuss inter alia the reform at the Ministry of Health, activation of nocturnal medical centers, front emergency rooms, health plans for representatives of the public - together with the holders of Health profile in local authorities and the participation of heads of the Ministry of Health, hospital administrators, directors of HMOs and various medical organizations.

Maximum knowledge

The Steering Committee agreed to continue working until the opening of the conference for thickening sessions so that elected officials will come out with maximum and extensive knowledge regarding their activity.

The production company, Malachut said that registration for participation in the conference is at its end, and earlier this week rooms in the main building of the convention center Nir Etzion have been sold out. Conference panels are closed and require advance registration and approval.

It also informed that for most strict security reasons, the entire Nir Etzion area will be closed and no entry will be allowed without registration in advance.

The production company members are also laboring over arrangements for accommodation level to be respectable using innovative technological means.

Among elected officials there is much anticipation for the conference in light of the great benefit that they are expected to gain in expertise in various fields as well as the possibility of personal meetings with the heads of government and the economy who will be in the conference.

Given that elections will be held in the coming months, it is very important to convene a conference with all elected officials, in which all Hareidi representatives in local government, together with the heads of factions and leaders of the parties will participate, and thus extensive discussions could be held in order to increase the Hareidi strength in the government.
The general media is also deeply interested in the conference and its respectable participants and is expected to cover its events.
