Three soldiers were wounded during an operation at the border strip

An IDF soldier was injured this morning (Tuesday) and sustained light to moderate injuries during routine activity near the border fence near Kibbutz Nirim in the central Gaza Strip. The soldier received initial medical treatment in place and was taken by helicopter for further medical treatment at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, suffering injuries to his limbs. Two other soldiers were slightly injured and received medical treatment there.

The soldiers returned fire at suspicious figures in the area, and began searching.

Two weeks ago, an IDF officer Captain Ziv Shilon was wounded, during the military operations of the IDF force near the security fence in the central Gaza Strip. He received first aid medical treatment and was evacuated by helicopter for further medical treatment in hospital. A primary investigation revealed that Major Shilon was wounded by an explosive device placed by terrorists in the area.

The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and security forces, and will continue to operate against anyone who operates terror against Israel. Hamas is a terrorist organization and are held responsible.
