Yoel Zev Goldstein, a resident of Meah Shearim and most famous of the Japan prisoners who was released from the Japanese prison a year ago and received a warm welcome in Israel upon his release – is engaged to a girl from the Shapira family from Manchester, England.
Since his acquittal in Japan, Goldstein went through physical and mental rehabilitation. Since then he has been studying at the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem and returned to normal life.
Two weeks ago the U.S. operation committee that operated behind the scenes for his release, held a reception party in his honor, attended by lawyers who worked on his acquittal, various Hasidic community activists and wealthy people who financed the law expenses during his stay in prison.
