Rosh Yeshiva against electronic cigarettes

The Rosh Yeshiva of Beit Matityahu in Bnei Brak Hgr"b Weissbecker, has banned electronic cigarettes smoking.

The phenomenon of electronic cigarettes has become a trend which has recently taken over the Yeshiva world. Many yeshiva high students often use electronic cigarettes as a substitute for smoking. Many users believe that it saves them money and prevents health damage -which smoking tobacco cigarettes cause.

But the head of Yeshivat Beit Matityahu, Hgr"b Weissbecker banned smoking electronic cigarettes, and ordered them to be expropriated.

"Last week, the Rosh Yeshiva confiscated several young men's electronic cigarettes," said a Yeshiva bachur to B'Chadrei Charedim. "According to the Rosh Yeshiva, boys do not know how to set their own boundaries and cigarette use within the Beit Midrash.

"Last week," said the boy, "The Rosh Yeshiva confiscated an electronic cigarette from a boy who used it outside the Beit Midrash.

"The Rosh Yeshiva did not react to the health issues caused by the electronic cigarette," said the boy. "But it bothered him that the same boy used it before in places like the Beit Midrash and dining room."
