End to the graves issue in the Golobnzitz compound in Beit Shemesh?
Last weekend, an agreement was signed between the Gaon Av Beit Din 'Haeideh Charedi, Hgri"t Weiss, and one of the construction initiators, Avraham Slonim. The agreement, according to officials in the committee, would end the saga that has continued for more than a year and the beginning of construction.
Even 24 hours after signing, nobody can reveal the exact details of the hand written agreement. Everyone adds, modifies, or deletes an important detail. Only on one detail all agree on - out of joy or out of default - work at the site will begin in the coming days.
This will be done using small tractors, and tightly controlled by several factors.
And now to the conduct behind the scenes: first contacts that led to this agreement, began a week ago during Avraham Slonim's visit to the U.S. when he escorted the Rachmastrivke Rebbe on a fundraising trip.
Slonim met the Satmar Rebbe, who recently heard about the controversy which brings vigorous disagreement within the 'Eideh Charedi', the Rebbe intervened, heard the arguments, and studied the findings brought before him. Only later, with the help of activists did he try to formulate an outline that will resolve the saga.
The agreement was brought before the Gab"d who expressed his desire to sign, and before the 'Atra Kadisha'.
And here starts the versions war: Leaders in 'Haeideh' said that the Atra Kadisha, refused to sign for various reasons. According to them, this is the source behind the rumors of Hgri"t Weiss's resignation from his job, "was an attempt to create pressure that everyone must sign the agreement, but nothing worked, The rabbi signed and we have to do without the signature of the organization," said one.
Members of Atra Kadisha, present a different version: "There is no reason to refuse such an agreement," a factor at the organization stated. "The reason the Gab"d did not sign until Friday, is that he waited until we give our final approval. It is ridiculous that those who stirred the rumor that the Gab'd is resigning - blame us."
Now, after the signing of the agreement, it seems that even 'Binyan Shelem' will begin work. According to a factor at the company, "We were never against the 'Eideh Charedi', we received in the past and now the halachic approval of Hgr"n Karelitz and now we can begin work."
Now, we can only follow that construction actually begins.
