On Baharan Street in Meah Shearim neighborhood in Jerusalem three toddlers were burned when a pot of cholent spilled on them.
Hatzalah paramedics gave them basic medical care. They evacuated a six month old baby - moderate to severe condition, and a toddler about a year and a half - light to moderate condition. Another brother two and a half years old was treated on the spot and did not require evacuation to hospital.
Yehudah, a Hatzalah paramedic who treated the infants, said: "When we arrived at the apartment I and other medics saw the children who got burned, when for some reason one of the pots on the gas fell and burned them.
"We gave them the initial treatment of Brandshield bandages, and then evacuated two children to hospital for continued treatment. Probably one of the children, who were with the mother in the kitchen, is what caused the accident. We remind parents that when cooking, especially on Erev Shabbos, do not allow children and toddlers into the kitchen and watch more carefully, since it is life threatening."
