The 6 month old baby from an Orthodox family in Ashdod, died today (Thursday) at noon in Rovah 7 in Ashdod, probably due to SIDS.
The toddler was at the home of her babysitter. According to the babysitter, at 11:00 she went to feed the baby, but she refused to eat and fell asleep. At about 12 o'clock she came again to wake her up and tried to feed her. But then she noticed that the baby's skin color was blue - and called the Hatzalah.
Yossi Zemach, a paramedic of Emergency Hatzalah of Zaka said that along with MDA teams he carried out a full and prolonged resuscitation attempt to save her life, but after about 45 minutes the doctor ruled her death.
The father of the baby said that a few years ago they lost another child, who died following an illness.
Avi, a Hatzalah medic in the south, said:" This is an Orthodox family who unfortunately it's their second time losing a child, every death is difficult, but the death of a toddler is several times harder, and in particular it is a family that we as volunteers are familiar with the unfortunate incident before. We tried to save her but unfortunately had to determine her death, I and other Hatzalah medics are helping the family to arrange and organize the funeral. "
