Magistrates Court in Rishon Lezion permitted publication today (Tuesday) that Lahav Unit 433 who are conducting an investigation on suspicion of kidnapping a person, imprisonment and serious violent offenses towards him - by the head of the criminal organization Charlie Abutbul and his people.
The court prohibited the publication of the details of the victim - a fellow Orthodox resident of Jerusalem - and his family.
It is suspected that, after 900 000 shekels were stolen from an apartment in Rechasim, the boy was invited to where the theft occurred - by a number of suspects, orthodox residents of the community - the sons of a well-known Orthodox rabbi from Netanya who recently died - And they threw him the false suspicion that he's committed the theft.
A police investigation found that the suspects invited the members of the criminal organization led by Charlie Abutbul, they put the boy under threats into the car, and took him to the basement of a residential building belonging to the Abutbul family in Netanya, where, it is believed, he was imprisoned and interrogated by Charlie Abutbul and his people, while they beat him severely in the head and all over his body, blocking his mouth and threatening to kill him.
The victim was eventually able to escape from the basement, suffering from injuries and fractures on his face, and sought medical treatment, and immediately thereafter filed a complaint with the police.
So far seven suspects connected to the case are detained; they are attributed to suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, extortion, aggravated assault and related offenses. Among those arrested - wife of Charlie Abutbul.
The investigation continues and police said that more arrests are expected. Police said the incident involved about 15 people. However, the head of the organization, Charlie Abutbul has not yet been arrested and police are looking for him after he went underground.
Attorneys Yaniv Peretz and Chen Meiri, representing Sonia Abutbul, said: "Our client is being held hostage until the arrest of others involved in the case. She denies any connection to the events and is being held in custody solely because of her family name. We hope that the court orders her release today and the truth will emerge soon. "
Police said that up until now seven people have been arrested.
Sonia Abutbul's arrest was extended today until Thursday 1/11. The arrest of David Fadida and Chananya Gabai was extended till Sunday 4/11, the arrest of Aweideh Ayman and Itzik Gabai was extended until 6/11, the arrest of Rafi Meimon will be extended again tomorrow as part of an appeal and the arrest of another detainee will be extended today in Rishon Lezion Magistrates Court.
