Tears and joy • engagement of the scholar's widow

The widow of the scholar who died a year ago, hours before his sons Bris - got engaged last night.

About a year ago, the scholar Shlomo Ophir Harosch died just hours before bringing his son into the Bris of Avraham Aveinu, as a result of heart failure.

The widow got engaged last night and her family and friends attended and rejoiced with her. Ofir's family also attended and rejoiced with the bride. "To see everyone dancing and happy at an event like this, it was a very moving moment, everyone was in tears," said one participant in a conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim.

To B'Chadrei Charedim it become known that a month after the tragedy, the woman came along with her infant son to the home of Hgr"a Yosef, to receive his blessing.

Hgr"a, who knew the details of the tragedy, blessed the woman and the baby she carried in her arms.

According to testimony from Hagr"a's family, after she left the room, Hgr"a removed his glasses wept and prayed: "Hashem have pity on the mother and her baby."

One family member said yesterday: "There is no doubt that this Simcha is only because of the blessings of Hgr"a."
The wedding will take place within the next few weeks.

Recalling, a year ago the baby's father came to stay in his parents' home in Ashdod for the Shabbos before the Bris.

In the morning he woke up, began preparations for the Bris, felt ill and collapsed suddenly, without any explained reason. An hour after the funeral, the Bris was held.
