Accident in Jerusalem "festive clothes were stained with blood"

Orthodox family were injured last night (Tues.) in a serious to light condition at the entrance to Jerusalem.

At 00:58 am there was an accident between a bus line #982 that came from Meron and a private car on Highway #1 near Ginot Sachorov in the direction of Jerusalem.

The bus driver and passengers of the private vehicle, a Hareidi couple and their three children, were seriously to lightly injured.

They were evacuated by MDA ambulances aided by Hatzala and Ichud Hatzala paramedics, parents and three children from a private vehicle and a bus driver, to Hadassah Ein Kerem, Shaare Zedek and Mount Scopus hospitals.

Ichud Hatzala reported that three were seriously injured, a boy of about 10, and two more casualties in a mild to moderate condition and one slight injury.

Yossi Refaeli, a Ichud Hatzala paramedic who gave medical treatment to victims, told Behadrey Haredim that this was a car hit a bus and was thrown towards a pillar. "I gave along with other paramedics medical treatment to five members of one family," he said, "They were dressed in fancy clothes, but they were stained with blood."

Bus passengers said that the private car went from the direction of Har Hamenuchos at a red light towards the exit from the city, and the driver who did not manage to stop on time hit the car hard.

Some bus passengers suffered minor injuries and did not require evacuation to a hospital. After the evacuation of casualties the bus driver was not feeling well, and was also taken to hospital in a slight condition.
