Hundreds of Rebbes, Rabbanim and public officials came to comfort the Kretshnifer Rebbe, who is sitting shiva for his brother Rabbi Yitzchak zt"l in Rechovot.
Amongst those who came yesterday was Transport Minister-Yisrael Katz. The Rebbe is known to many Likud leaders who have come for blessings and advice, and come from time to time to consult with him on various issues.
During the conversation, between the Rebbe and Minister the elections came up on the agenda. The Rebbe began and said to the minister, "The Torah world must not be harmed," and talked with him at length about the Tal Law and cancellation.
The Minister commented: "during the last four years there have not been any decrees against the ultra-Orthodox community, despite the public and media assault". The minister also promised the Rebbe that it will be so in the future, if Likud will form the next government. The Torah of Israel is eternal and the roots are its connection and so it will stay "
Later the Rebbe raised the issue concerning the summons received by thousands of Haredim from the recruiting offices.
The minister said he had not heard about it, but promised to come to grips with the case and, if necessary, update the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
