New commander for Southern region: Police Commander Yoram Halevy
Border Police Commander Yoram Halevy, has been appointed commander of the Israel Police Southern District • His place will be filled by Amos Yaakov who served until now as commander of the Judea

Commissioner Yohanan Danino's recommendations were approved to appoint the Border Police Commander Yoram Halevy, as commander of the Southern District of the Israel Police. Major General Amos Yaakov, who served as commander of the Judea and Samaria district, will be appointed as Commander of the Border.
Other appointments approved in the current round: Brigadier General Avshalom Peled Deputy Jerusalem District Commander, Brigadier General Yosef Pony as Deputy Police Commander, Commander Yitzhar Peled raised to the rank of General Brigadier and appointed as commander of the Jerusalem Police, Commander Amnon Alcalai raised to the rank of General Brigadier and appointed commander of the Zion area; commander David Ben Attia will be raised to the rank of General Brigadier and appointed head of operations.
Commander Yoram Halevy, is 49, married with three children, was born and lives in Jerusalem. He joined the police in 1984 after serving in the Paratroopers.
He previously served as a commander, platoon leader, operations officer and as a SWAT commander of undercover Border Police in the West Bank, and as the central unit commander of the Jerusalem district.
Major General Amos Jacob, 50, is married with three children, was born and lives in field contributions Beit Shean Valley. He served in the Golani and Givati and joined the police in 1988. He previously served as a company commander Gaza border operations officer, deputy commander of Central Police, and Border Police in the North and Jerusalem.
