Following a tour of the Public Petitions Committee headed by MK David Azoulay, it indicates that the preparations of emergency and security forces for the Hillulah of Rachel Imeinu which will be held on Motzaei Shabbos, the night of 11th Cheshvan, may cause desecration of Shabbos – as Uri Maklev of Yahadut Hatora warns in a letter to the new commander of the Jerusalem District Police Commander Yossi Preintie.

"As the 11th Cheshvan approaches, the day of death of Rachel Imeinu, which this year will be on Motzaei Shabbos, and with it the mass preparation for absorption of masses who come to pray at the grave on they day of the hillula, I draw your attention so that this year the preparations and assessments will not be done through the desecration of the Shabbos," notes MK Rabbi Maklev in his letter.

Every year the police have been preparing for hours before the event to absorb tens of thousands of worshipers arriving at the Kever already in the afternoon in the eve of the day of death, but this year, the flow of worshipers expected to come is only on Saturday night –so that police deployment will have to be big to help absorb such a large number of worshipers in a short time.

"One should take care that no preparations will be done on Shabbos while desecrating our holy Shabbos," warns MK Rabbi Maklev and notes that "there is nothing more important than keeping the Sabbath – the sign of the covenant between Israel and its God, and under no circumstances should one prepare to secure the worshipers at Kever Rachel while trampling and desecrating our holy Shabbos. "

To ensure proper assessments event without fear of desecration of the Shabbos,, Maklev asks Preintie to coordinate with all parties concerned on the proper hour of beginning preparations to start absorbing worshipers as early as possible, without causing G-d forbid any Chilul Shabbos.

"With the formation of the time, one should publish it to the public wishing to arrive at Kever Rachel on the hillula and only from the specified time will the masses begin to visit the grave", Maklev concludes.
