Shlomo Dwek, the man who blew the Deal affair, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for bank fraud by Freehold Court in New Jersey.
Supreme Court judge in Freehold, New Jersey, last Friday sentenced Shlomo Dwek to four years in prison for the massive fraud of $13 million in the local bank, after a day earlier, the Federal Court sentenced Dwek to six years in prison.
Dwek appeared before the Judge in prisoner clothes and asked for leniency about the collaboration with the FBI.
However, despite the verdict Dwek will not pay cumulative penalties.
Freehold district judge adopted the plea agreement signed between Dwek's lawyers that prosecutors will include the four additional years Dwek received, within the six years Dwek derived by the Federal Court and will be imprisoned for six years only.
During the trial, Dwek admitted fraud and breach training, and asked forgiveness of his victims. Dwek said he would try to return the funds.
Dwek's lawyer said after the verdict that Dwek did what he did in order to save his skin, and that he was satisfied with the fact that the court respected the plea.
The lawyer later said that Dwek repents for his acts but must now contend with the difficult circumstances, and family problems.
