Baruch Dayan Ha'emes: last Shabbos, the Ba'al Menagen, Harh"c R' Yaakov Vales z"l, of the elders of Modzitz Chassidim, died at the age of 87.
On Shabbos morning, the deceased davened at the Vasikin minyan in the Churva synagogue in the Old City of Jerusalem, and in the middle of Shachris he suddenly collapsed and returned his soul to its creator.
As a result of the death, the shull was closed the entire Shabbos.
The deceased z"l was born 87 years ago to his father Harav Avrohom Vales z"l, one of the old residents of Jerusalem. In his young days, he was closely connected to the Rebbe the Imrei Shaul of Modzitz zt"l, and over the years he became a regular chossid, and was one of the Menagnim in the Modzitz Chassidus, and was also close to all the Rebbes of the dynasty.
He is survived by a Dor Yeshorim Mevorach: sons and daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His levaya left on Motzaei Shabbos from the Shamgar levaya house in Jerusalem, on its way to Har Hamenuchos – where he was buried. Many of the Modzitz Chassidim, headed by the Rebbe, took part in his levaya.
May his soul be cherished for eternal life.
