Canada: petrol bomb thrown into kosher restaurant

A shocking incident of anti-Semitism took place in Montreal, Canada: A petrol bomb was thrown this morning (Thursday) into the restaurant 'Chops Resto' – a kosher steak restaurant located at 5332 Queen Mary.

The bottle was thrown at the window of the store, penetrated the restaurant and ignited the furniture. Fortunately, debris hit the fire extinguishers installed in the restaurant, and they began to splash water automatically - and put out the fire that broke out in the restaurant.

However, the restaurant's window was smashed by the bottle, and the water sprinkled severely damaged the furniture and walls of the restaurant.

A passing eye-witness told police that around four o'clock he heard a strange noise from the restaurant, and peering through the window he saw the restaurant window smashed, and two masked youths running away.

According to the restaurant owner, two years ago the restaurant was also an aim of an attack - and then too a petrol bomb was thrown at it, but so far the police could not lay their hands on the perpetrators.

However, this time the Montreal police made it clear that they are determined to capture the criminals, especially since this was a triple event: half an hour before the attack at the kosher restaurant, petrol bombs were thrown at a coffee shop which is located seven blocks from the restaurant as well as at another restaurant which is not kosher.
