In the Hareidi neighborhoods of New York the race for the Senate seat is heating up, between Simcha Felder and attorney David Strovin.
In 3 weeks time U.S. citizens will go out to vote not only in the presidential elections, but also the elections for the candidate who will represent the Boro Park and Flatbush suburbs in the Senate of the State of New York.
Dov Hikind, a prominent religious activist in New York and a member of the legislature of New York on behalf of the Democratic Party, is running his friend, Simcha Felder as a candidate for the state Senate.
Against him, for the same spot, competes another Jewish candidate for the Republican party, lawyer David Strovin, also supported by Hareidi public figures.
Felder who is troubled by the race which is increasingly heating up, opened a center for the time of elections at the Kikar Hashabbat intersection of New York, opposite the famous Beis Midrash, 'Shomrei Shabbos'.
At the fixing of a mezuzah in Felder's office, the Bornstein Rebbe was honored.
Felder intends to rage the close struggle from his headquarters against the Republican candidate, who is supported by quite a few of the city's Rabbonim and many of the Rebbes' chassidim who prefer not to support a candidate supported by the Democratic Party..
