A mini - drama took place yesterday on El Al flight from the Ben Gurion Airport to New York: During the flight a Hareidi passenger passed away.

It was in the midst of the flight departing after midnight from Ben Gurion Airport when the captain turned to the passengers and asked doctors to come up and treat the patient. A number of doctors and paramedics went to the front of the plane, there Sarah Chaya Kaoker, a Hareidi passenger who felt unwell sat, and her condition deteriorated rapidly.

A short time later the woman died.

The woman, a resident of Flatbush, Brooklyn, spent the TIshrei holidays with her family and grandchildren in Israel, and yesterday took off back home.

Her body was left on the passenger seat, covered with a blanket, and the flight continued to its destination.

The El Al management in New York passed the news of her death to her family, who came to the Kennedy airport and waited along with El Al representatives and representatives of the 'Misaskim' organization for her body.

The deceased's funeral will take place tomorrow in New York.
