Rabbi Zalman Koren: "dogs are buried in the Golobnzitz compound"

Construction storm at Golobnzitz: Two days after Hgr"d Shmidel - Chairman of the 'Atra Kadisha's letter was exposed, , which determined that the project site has burial caves and may be Jewish burial lots and therefore need to continue testing - there are those who replied.

"It seems to me that saying that about cemeteries which experts know from experience is a cemetery of dogs. Presenting a question of debate is a distraction from the main issue. "

The detailed letter is written by Rabbi Zalman Menachem Koren, an engineer and one of the greatest experts on issues of graves in Israel. Koren was sent in the past by Harav Elyashiv zt"l, and the "Minchas Yitzchak" and more, to decide on similar issues. Among other things, he also deals with the issue of identification of the Temple for many years. Immediately after receiving the letter of Hgr"d Shmidel, he was required by everyone involved in the project to answer the allegations.

He writes about the point raised in Rabbi Shmidel's letter that it must be investigated whether the bones are Jewish, "this question should only come up after you find three dead lying as is customary where the usual distance between them is four to eight cubits, then according to the Mishnah, all the dead should be presumed as Jews, then and there the area is lawfully considered a Jewish cemetery."

Koren says that "the archaeologist Professor Dan Bahat, who visited the area and was instructed by R' Chezkiahu Kalmanovitz, wrote in his letter that the grave field is similar to a burial field in Jericho, which was thoroughly studied by the famous British archaeologist Ms. Kathleen Kenyon who dug in Jericho in תשי"ג, תשי"ח, under Jordanian ruler ship. "

Following this he went to the Institute of Archaeology to check the reports of archaeological excavations, "In the book I saw dozens of charts quite similar to the burial graves in Beit Shemesh in a place called Hill of Jerusalem .... And I didn’t see one of them which justifies Halachic fear the" neighborhood cemetery. "

Recalling, Hgr"d Shmidel published his letter not to build in the area until tests are carried out in response to a letter issued by Rab"d 'Haeida Charedi', Reb Moshe Sternbuch, that religious law does not prevent a tractor to go up to the area and begin construction work.
