'Walla" survey: Shas down to 9 seats

A survey conducted by the 'TNS-Telesurvery Institute" for "Walla," show that even if the center and left wing parties consolidate, there will not be a dramatic change.

Survey participants were asked Sunday night about the possibility of a common united run between the center and left wing parties run by Ehud Olmert in cooperation with Tzipi Livni, and Kadima run by Mofaz and Yair Lapid.

According to the results of the survey, if there will be no unity between those parties, "Labor" and "Likud" will get 30 and 19 seats respectively. "Yesh Atid" party run by Yair Lapid will get 14 seats, "Israel Beiteinu" is down to 12, "Kadima" wading around six seats, "Shas" down to nine seats, "Jewish Home" – Mafda"l and Meretz, are five seats each, "Yahadut HaTorah" get six seats, the "National Union" falls into two, Ehud Barak's "Independence" does not pass the threshold, and receives between 0-2 seats. NDA retains power with three seats, UAL - Taal and Hadas"h get four seats each.

Olmert's new party, if they run, get no more than 23 seats, three seats more than "Yesh Atid" run by Lapid and "Kadima" alone.

According to the Walla survey, in the case of the united party running, survey data remain intact, except for the Likud, Labor and Meretz who lose one seat each.

Most disappointed in the survey: the party of Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Israel Beiteinu, falling in the polls to only 12 seats.

The survey data show that mandates game is internal in the center – left sector, and does not affect the struggle between them and the right-wing, whose power will range from 63-64 seats, compared to 65 in the 18th Knesset.
