Litzman fired Prof. Hiss from the Pathological Institution

Professor Yehuda Hiss, who was for years the chief of can do it all and controversial of the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir, was fired tonight (Monday) - by Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman from his position and is going home.
Ministry of Health announced that it was decided to reorganize the Institute of Forensic Medicine, which fired the 67-year-old Hiss. Hiss's dismissal comes after public criticism arose following the organs case which was kept at the institute.
The Deputy Minister of Health's decision on the dismissal came after arguments were accumulated against Hiss for disregarding the dignity of the dead, damage to bodies and body parts theft. The dismissal is another step in the examination process by the Ministry of Health regarding the operation of the Institute, following the 'tissue parts' case, which was reported at length in B'Chadrei Charedim. Following the case a storm provoked – the deputy health minister decided to establish a commission of inquiry and to reorganize the management of the Institute.
The Ministry of Health also issued, upon the dismissal notice, the replacement job center of Hiss's successor - the management and operation of the Institute.
As part of the changes the Institute of Forensic Medicine will be the responsibility of the Management Division Director of the Health Ministry, and it will no longer be in the hands of director of Assaf Harofeh Hospital - held at until now.
Deputy Health Minister said: "The decision to make changes at the Forensic Institute stems from the need to fix the place as required, according to examinations conducted by the Ministry of Health professionals. I sincerely hope that this will streamline the system, in order to ensure full respect for the deceased and his family."
