An El Al flight that was supposed to take off on Sunday night from Kiev at 22:30 pm – was postponed until 7 am the next morning.

The announcement of the delay was given to the passengers only after passing through passport control, so they were forced to spend the night in the terminal.

The company provided travelers with sandwiches made in Ukraine without a Hechsher. As a result, nearly 70 Hareidi passengers who returned from a Shabbos in Berdichev – on account of the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak - remained hungry after a day of exhausting travelling between Kivrei Tzadikim in the Ukraine.

The passengers made contact with the Hatzala Ukraine organization, which recruited to provide 70 meaty dishes.

El Al informed passengers that they are not organized to provide food in such cases, and that kosher food is distributed on the plane only. The company explained that the reason for the delay of the flight is a delay of the plane's departure from Israel, and heavy fog which prevailed at the airport in Kiev and prevented the departure of aircraft.
