Panic seized Haredi residents living on 40th Avenue between 13th and 14th in Boro Park.
Shortly before midnight on Shabbos night, there were suddenly two curdling screams coming from the direction of the street.
It turned out that an anonymous murdered a youngster of 28 years old who does not live on the street.
Hareidi neighbors who peeked out the window saw the man lying on the sidewalk, dead, as much blood oozed from his stomach.
The police which arrived at the scene identified the victim, Ovdo Tom, 28, took testimony from neighbors and were even assisted by a video of the security cameras of the neighbors.
The police are asking for the public's help and anyone who witnessed the murder is asked to call 1-800-577-tips.
Chaim Leffler, who has been living on the street for ten years, says to Behadrey Haredim: "This is street which is mostly inhabited by Orthodox Jews. At the time the murder happened, people are returning from a Tisch or Simchas such as Sheva Brochos. It's scary to think that on this street a murderer is walking around, pulls out a knife, murders and disappears, without being caught. It was the first time that such a case happens on our street," says Leffler, in concern.
