Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin doesn't despair: he plans to continue his efforts to appeal against the severe sentence, according to his lawyer.
As recalled, Supreme Court judges in the United States announced two weeks ago that they do not intend to discuss the appeal of Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin, who was sentenced to 27 years in prison. But his lawyer, Nathan Levin says: "We are not going to give up."
His daughter, lawyer Aliza Levin, was quoted in the 'Ami' magazine, published in English: "My father devoted his life to struggles where he knew injustice was done to others. This is deeply ingrained in his personality. When he feels that someone has been wronged, he does not give up."
She added: "The Supreme Court notice is very disappointing, but from my father's perspective this is not the end."
Lawyer Nathan Levin is the son of Agudath Israel of America's representative, the late Yitzhak Levin. He wears a black yarmulke and is considered one of the preeminent lawyers in the United States.
According to his daughter, "My father identified another legal option to demonstrate that the trial which took place in Rubashkin's case was not fair. He will continue to work to correct what he believes should be amended.
"In Rubashkin's case, the most extreme injustice which my father has seen during his career, was done."
