The German government's cabinet approved today (Wednesday) the law that gives legal validity to circumcision.

Meaning: Soon Jews and Muslims can circumcise without fear.

It should be noted that the proposal was formulated by the German Ministry of Justice.
Under the law, circumcision will be only "medical work in accordance with the laws." Both parents will have to give full consent to the procedure and be aware of all the risks associated with it, in order to "preserve the child's welfare."

Jewish communities in the country have accepted with great satisfaction. On the other hand, the representative of Muslim communities questioned the success of the proposal in practice when stating that the definition of preserving the child's welfare, "is too inclusive setting."

Recalling since June a storm arose in the country, as the District Court in Cologne ruled by the case of a Muslim child which brought to him that circumcision, which was not for medical reasons, is in fact unnecessary injury and thus viable punishment.
