Yesterday (Monday), the traditional "shteidige Torah" ceremony took place in the Belzer community where thousands of chassidim participated. The event which takes place on Motzei Simchas Torah marks the ending of the Yomim Tovim for the chassidus.
During his lecture, the Rebbe said: "A Belzer chassid must understand that his davening should look like a proper davening, davening in a Belzer Shul, davening with enthusiasm and to remember before whom we stand. One must daven in a set place and should not talk during davening, and not to allow others to talk.
The Rebbe also spoke about the need to strengthen the study procedures and stated: "A chassid must know that just like he puts on Tefillin every day, so must he participate in a Torah shiur every day… a person who participates in a Torah shiur looks different and his home looks different."
"There must be a set time for a Torah shiur and should not be postponed from morning to evening and from one hour to the next, but a set time and set place and a set chavrusa."
The Rebbe also stated the importance of the "chaburos" and that "each person must belong to a 'chaburo' which gathers together from time to time, likewise for the women."
The Rebbe also referred to the internet: "Today the internet has become worldwide. On one hand it has lots of advantages and on the other hand it has many disadvantages. I do not want to lengthen on this topic, but I wish to say that Baruch Hashem after great efforts a company by the name of "Net-Zach" has produced a Kosher internet. Anyone who thinks he needs the internet should connect to this company. Whoever doesn’t need it should not use it at all. I am referring to those who need connection to the internet, they should connect to this company which will give him solutions to all the real problems, in trade and all other matters, and may he be saved from big and difficult nisyanos."
The Rebbe continued and mentioned the importance of taking part in Chesed and the organization 'Ahavas Chesed": "I am jealous of those activists who work infinitely, endlessly and for no money. We must help and strengthen each other. In money matters sometimes one can help and sometimes not, but a good word can be always be said, and we don’t need organizations for that. Strengthen your brother and say a kind word, if you see another person who seems upset and worried one must ask him and strengthen him with kind words. The Gemara says that strengthening with words is far greater than strengthening with money."
