Tragedy: Hatzalah founder falls from ambulance and dies

Flatbush in shock: Rabbi Dovid Price z"l, one of New York's senior businessmen and founder of Hatzalah felt unwell and called an ambulance. Whilst being taken into the ambulance he fell, injured his head and died.

Tragedy in Flatbush: Rabbi Dovid Price, one of Flatbush's senior businessmen and Hatzalah founder felt unwell, was taken by ambulance, fell and injured his head.
Yesterday (Tuesday) he felt unwell and called an ambulance. The ambulance came promptly, R' Dovid was taken from a wheelchair from his home to the street and into the ambulance via the electric elevator.

The reason behind R' Dovid's fall is still unclear.

Hatzalah volunteers transferred him to hospital unconscious, where he was put on life support. An hour later he died at the age of 77.

Rabbi Price was a tremendous Talmid Chacham and Baal Chesed. He was Principal of the "Prospect Park High school" for many years.

He left a wife Leah, three daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren behind.
His funeral will take place this afternoon at the "Shomrei Hadas" in Boro Park, and his coffin will arrive in Israel tomorrow where he will be buried at Har Hamenuchos.
