The British Sunday Times reveals this morning that Western intelligence officials said Iran recently unveiled a hidden listening device in an underground uranium enriching site in Purdue. According to the report, soldiers from the Revolutionary guards tested rock at the scene, when it suddenly exploded and between the remains were found the remains of a listening device. According to the same sources the device could capture information from computers nearby and transfer it to its activators.
In the British newspaper, the story of the listening device is linked to the confession of Fridon Abbasi, head of Iran's nuclear agency, that on August 17, a power failure occurred between the city of Qom which is close to the facility at Purdue and the facility itself, "due to a mysterious explosion."
Only on Saturday, Iran accused the German Siemens company for planting in a shipment of equipment designed for its nuclear program - detonators and destructive parts. The Iranians claimed that Siemens cooperated with the West in an attempt to harm the Iranian nuclear plan, but boasted that they were able to thwart the danger and locate the problematic particles.
However, Siemens denies the existence of any deal with the Iranians, and make it clear that since the revolution in 1979 they did not hold any business deals with Iran.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived this morning (Sun.) in New York to attend the UN General Assembly. According to the Iranian news agency Fars, the Americans prevented the entry of some 20 members of the planned delegation, which was meant to include about 160 people. Among those denied entry - the Iranian government ministers.
It should be noted that the U.S. administration did not publicize why the delegation did not receive such a visa, since it was a rare case, as the Americans are committed under the agreement with the UN to allow any delegation to arrive in New York. According to the report, it seems denied entry figures are those related to the nuclear plan.
Yesterday (Saturday) Hgr"a Yoseph expressed himself during his weekly shiur regarding the Iranian threat. Hgr"a said that one should pray on Yom Kippur that Hashem should destroy the Iranian enemy.
