This morning (Sunday) in a parking lot next to the Shalem police station in East Jerusalem, an Arab woman of 32, resident of the Silwan village, tried to stab a policeman, who got control over her and the incident ended without casualties. The Arab was taken for investigation.
From a first investigation of the incident it seems that at about 6:30 this morning, she arrived close to the Shalem station with a knife in her hand, and with the intention of stabbing a policeman.
A patrol policeman who was next to his car turned around, and noticed the suspect running towards him with a drawn knife. The policeman got hold of her, tied her up and arrested her.
In her interrogation the suspect informed that she came to a decision to stab a policeman in protest of the screening of the film which offends the Prophet Mohammed and as a result of the situation in the territories.
Her interrogation continues in the minorities' section in the Central Unit of Jerusalem.
The Jihad Salafi organization "Ensar Beit El-Makdas" took responsibility this morning for performing the attack in the Israeli-Egyptian border, as reported in the organization's announcement. According to the announcement, the combined attack in which corporal Netanel Yahalomi was killed, came in response to the American film which offended the Prophet Mohammed.
"This is the punishment against whoever dared offend the beloved prophet," it said in the announcement. The organization's announcement was transferred to intelligence group's internet "SITE". "We want to instill discipline in the Jews who dared go out to war against Mohammed," the terrorists further mentioned in their message. It further said that the three terrorists carried Kalashnikov guns on them, RPG missiles and hand grenades, and on their hips they carried explosive belts.
According to them, eight Israelis were killed in this incident and not one as the IDF claims. This organization has taken responsibility in the past for a few attacks against Israeli forces in the south, among others for the attack on Road no. 12 in August last year, when eight Israelis were killed.
