Surprise at Toldos Avrohom Yitzchok: Simchas Beis Hashoeva one single nigiht
Premiere and exclusive release: Toldos Avrohom Yitzchok will not hold a Simchas Beis Hashoeva every night this year as on previous years• Each night there will be a Tisch accompanied by an orchestra, but without dancing • Reason: a Simcha every night loses its effectiveness • The chassidus has completed the construction of a huge tent on Salant street towards the event.

Crowds flock every year during Chol Hamoed Sukkos to the alleyways of Mea Shearim, where they sail between the various Hasidish Tisches, who hold Simchas Beis Hashoeva each night. This year, for the first time, it was decided by Toldos Avrohom Yitzchok - one of the three major centers in the neighborhood - to hold a single Simchas Beis Hashoeva.
The decision, published here for the first time, also includes the way of having the Simcha, when every day a Tisch will be held with the Rebbe accompanied by an orchestra, but without the dancing, and thereby the chassidus will hold the traditional Simchas Beis Hashoeva. On a single night will Simchas Beis Hashoeva be held accompanied by the customary dancing.
At the Chassidus they explain the reason, which is that the chassidim want to have a 'Tisch', and the fact that when there are dances every night, this slowly erodes the simcha and makes it irrelevant for many of the chassidim.
Meanwhile, the chassidus is preparing these days for Succos from another perspective – for the first time in history a huge tent is being erected these days combined with a succah, in which the Tisches, the Simchas Beis Hashoeva and the dancing will be held.
In past years, the chassidus had to make do with a small succah which was built by the Beis Midrash located on Ein Yaakov street in Meah Shearim, Jerusalem, while relying on the neighbors who gave their consent to extend it by a few extra meters. But this year – as said – it was decided to erect a huge tent.
Already these days, the building of the tent on Salant street is built in the neighborhood, a small distance away from the Beis Midrash and the home of the Rebbe who lives close by. The tent itself is erected in the area of the Hachnasas Orchim "Linas Hachessed". Factors in the chassidus say that the approval to build the tent was received from Chaim Cohen, the head of the organization.
"This year," explains an official in the chassidus, "we understood that there is a need for that, since the permanent Succah is too narrow to hold the hundreds of Chassidim who arrive to take part in the Tisches and Simchos Beis Hashoeva, and especially when there are many from outside the chassidus too, who arrive".
