Tragedy in New Jersey: Jewish couple killed in accident

On Shabbos afternoon, a tragic accident occurred in East Brunswick, New Jersey in the USA: two pedestrians, Ari David (aged 52) and his wife Sarah Fruma (50) Horowitz z"l, were hit by a car and killed. Three people – including their 27 year old son, Amiad – were also injured besides the driver who was injured too.

The road accident occurred close to 12:30 when the couple z"l were on their way back from shull towards their home, with their son Amiad.

A Toyota car, 1998 model driven by a man of 49 which according to witnesses was driving at an exaggerated speed, lost control over his car, drove onto the side walk, hit them powerfully and caused their immediate death.

The casualties in the accident were evacuated to the New Brunswick University Hospital.

Ari David (son of Yosef Moshe Halevi, yibadel lechaim) Horowitz, previously served as the president of Young Israel, and for his living worked as an insurance broker. He is an Israeli who lived with his wife in New Jersey and in Ma'ale Edumim in parallel.
Their coffins will be brought today (Wednesday) to Israel.

Their levaya will take place at 20:00pm in the Viznitz section in Segula cemetery in Petah Tikva, where they will be buried next to the deceased's brother, R' Natan Horowitz z"l, who was also killed in an accident.

Friends of the family mention that Shlichei Mitzva are taking care of flying the deceased, for their parents are very old, and cannot come to Israel. They add, that this is a Mitzva of Levayas Hames, and whoever can come, should do so.

Members of Young Israel gathered yesterday in the shull to say Tehillim for the recovery of the casualties, members of the kehilla: Amiad Nissim ben Sarah Fruma, Yerachmiel Natan ben Leda, and Hadar Yocheved bas Chaya Sarah.
