Authorities in France increased the security around the country on Wednesday, for fear of riots because of a publication of a caricature which ridicules the Prophet Mohammed and Jews in the paper. Newspapers in France report the calls of Moslems to protest in Paris, Lyon, Toulouse and Marseille in which millions of Moslems live.
French Prime Minister, Jean Marc Ayrault told the RTL radio that he will not allow demonstrators to gather in Paris on Saturday in order to protest about the screening of the movie "Innocence of Moslems": "There is no reason that this conflict will reach France, and no one can threaten our republic".

Minister of the Interior, Manuel Valls, hosted seniors in the Moslem leadership of France with an attempt to calm the spirits down, and at the same time it was reported that senior officials in the government talked to factors in the Jewish community, who expressed fear that Jews living in the country might become a target for violent riots.

The head of the Jewish community in France, Richard Prasquier, denounced the publication of the caricature in the satiric magazine "Charlie Hebdo" which ridicules Jews as well, and said that the publication of the illustration "in the present context" is "irresponsible".

Meanwhile, anonymous threw two petrol bombs towards the Naouri supermarket, a Jewish supermarket in the city of Sarcelles, which is close to Paris.

In the early afternoon, two youngsters dressed in black, arrived and threw a petrol bomb into the Naouri supermarket. The French news site JSS News reported, that two grenades were thrown towards the store, and only one of them exploded.

The Naouri Supermarket is known as a shopping center for many Jews who reside in the area, since it sells Kosher foods.

It is not yet known whether the attack is connected to the publication of the caricatures which ridicule Mohammed in the French magazine Charlie Hebdo, or if this is on a different background.

A person who was at the supermarket was slightly injured, three others suffered of anxiety.

The Israeli consulate in France was updated about the incident.
