The French magazine Charlie Avado published a caricature in which a Hareidi Jew is seen pushing a wheel chair on which a Moslem, who is supposedly the Prophet Mohammed, is sitting. Next to them, the cynical caption appears: "This is no issue for mockery". Editor of magazine: "The caricatures will shock whoever wants to be shocked". French government refused to get involved.

Moslems around the world have not yet calmed down from the movie which was produced in the USA which ridicules the Prophet Mohammed, but there is someone who chose to publish a caricature today (Wed.) which might ignite the riots again.
The French magazine "Charlie Avado" published a caricature this morning which depicts a hareidi Jew pushing a wheelchair on which a Moslem is sitting and next to them the caption "this is no issue for mockery".
A factor in the magazine admitted that the Moslem image is intended at Mohammed.
The editor of the magazine told the EFP news agency yesterday that "the caricatures will shock exactly those who want to be shocked" and added that the decision of the magazine to publish the sketch stemmed from its wish to defend the freedom of press.
Over the last day, politicians and public figures have approached the editors with a request to prevent the publication of the caricature. Never the less, the government announced that it does not intend to censure the caricature, even at the price of another wave of riots.
It should be mentioned that last year the French magazine's building was set on fire as a result of a caricature which ridiculed Mohammed.
